This review is from: Pentax Optio H90 Digital Camera – Orange/Silver (12MP, 5x Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)
Firstly I must declare that I am a bit of a pentax fan, and therefore perhaps a little biased. I do also though, know a fair bit about photography being a keen photographer (using pentax and samsung DLSRs).
I bought this for my now wife to use on our honeymoon, and she loved it as soon as she saw it. It really is very compact, and very very easy to use. My wife was getting to grips with it and some of the more advanced features straight away.
Pros:
- Good image quality in good lighting conditions
- Very compact and simple to use
- Very quick to start up and be ready to shoot
- 5 x optical zoom with pentax lens (always regarded as makers of some of the best glass)
- Panoramic stitching works very well and gives a choice of the sequence of shots
- Compatible with wifi sd cards
Cons:
- Image quality in low light not great (because of high noise levels which creep in when the camera switches to higher iso settings)
- Images can be on the softer side
- Battery life is average (better than AAs but heavy use over a couple days required re-charge)

This review is from: Pentax Optio H90 Digital Camera – Orange/Silver (12MP, 5x Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)
Pros
- Takes great pictures (endless amounts of shooting modes)
- Amazing filters/effects
- fantastic recording quality (Love that i can edit in camera)
- Lightweight (extremely so)
- Retro look
- easy to use
- cheap
Cons
- battery life is a slight issue but i tend to use it quite a lot – luckily it doesnt take long to charge and having a lithium battery is still a plus for a camera this cheap.
I absolutely love it. Would definitely recommend it!

I picked this camera up at Heathrow before flying out to the States earlier this year. I had done absolutely no research and it was a spur of the moment purchase. I chose it because I liked the look, it also records HD proportioned movies and offers a wide angle lens option.
The camera fits nicely into your hand with all the buttons easily reachable. The LCD screen is very clear and a good size. All of the menu options are reached using the standard type of buttons found on cameras these days.
I love taking panoramic photos – and this camera didn’t disappoint. You select the panoramic mode in the options and then take 3 pictures, matching up the ends of each picture using the guide that appears on screen. The wide angle option works in a similar fashion but you turn the camera to use it at portrait and then match up the ends of the 2 pictures you take.
When I got back I did a bit of research and found it has some very favorable reviews. It’s a very good value budget camera with some features you don’t normally get for this price range. If you search you’ll find it available for approx £[].
My only slight niggle about this is you have to take the battery out to re-charge it in a seperate (provided) unit rather than being able to plug a charger directly into the camera. I’m not sure whether such a feature is actually available on budget priced camera like this but for me personally this would be the only improvement I could think of for this camera.
Overall I thoroughly recommend it!
